This traditional Italian trattoria in Sydney’s outer west was such a gem, and it was a pleasure to bring them some well-deserved attention. After all, how many restaurants can say they tailor their menu to who’s in the restaurant that night?
Like many good small-town trattorias where long-time regulars make up the bulk of the clientele, what’s printed on the menu at L’Olio only tells half the story. “If I’m catering to a group of northerners, I’ll go and find everything I can to make northern food,” says executive chef Melissa Canclini Rogers who opened L’Olio with Anthony seven years ago after they bought out the casual pizzeria he had started with friends.
